Classes certify head or assistant coaches for any sport
SIOUX CITY, IOWA (Dec. 7, 2007)—Those wishing to acquire a coaching authorization can take a four-course sequence of classes, which certifies participants as head or assistant coaches in any sport. No prior college coursework is required.
The four courses needed for this program are: 1) Human Growth and Development; 2) Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries; 3) Structure and Function of the Human Body; and 4) Theory and Ethics of Coaching Interscholastic Athletics.
Classes will begin Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in Orange City. The five-week course requires attendance during two evenings and all day on Saturdays. Cost is $75 per credit hour for this five credit hour program, plus materials fees. Registration deadline is Jan. 21, 2008.
