NASA Regional Educator Resource Center

NASA has established the Educator Resource Center Network (ERCN) to disseminate NASA-related information and materials to the nation's educational community. The Educator Resource Center (ERC) serving the state of Iowa, located at Northwest Area Education Agency, provides expertise and facilities to help educators access and utilize instructional products that emphasize science, mathematics and technology. These products are based on NASA's unique mission and are aligned with the national education standards and appropriate state frameworks.

The Iowa ERC is directed by Jim Christensen. Jim's NASA background comes from serving as educator facilitator for the NASA Education Workshops program at Johnson Space Center from 1996-2000, and working as a part of the Teaching From Space Program Office also at Johnson Space Center in 2001. He has also helped to develop two experiments that have flown aboard NASA’s Reduced Gravity Aircraft, and he has flown one reduced gravity mission as an observer.

The Iowa ERC has NASA educational products including teaching units, videos and DVDs, lithographs (pictures) and other educational materials that are available to educators.
